Great!!!!

But, you must change it to "My First BATCH of platy"

May I know how long you keep them to that size?

Re: My first platy.

Oh~the fern root slab is same size as mine.If they fully wrapped the slab, would you transfer them to a bigger slab?

Re: My first platy.

The label on the packet of spores says P. QUIDRIDICHOTOMUM. I am wondering if this baby is the real deal?
This plant also maybe Asplanium nidus. Sometime other spores may contaminate the box.

Re: My first platy.

The earlier picture of P. Quidridichotomum that I have posted is not P.Quidridchotomum. As I have suspected because it grew the fastest in the spore box. This picture (courtesy of Mr. Sutthisak Sangkhakorn) is the baby plants of P.Quidridichotomum.
Guess I have the wait a bit longer.

Re: My first platy.

So what could the 1st picture be?

myherb 17th June 2010 10:17 PM

Re: My first platy.

May be bird nest fern(Asplanium nidus) Lots of them growing in my place and spores may have contaminated the spore box.

kevyn chan 18th June 2010 10:56 AM

Re: My first platy.

it should be a Asplenium nidus or commonly know as Bird's Nest Fern....they usually "contaminate" nearby trees, growing media and so forth...so try to remove it or it will conquer the whole pot VERY soon.

btw, looking at your mass production, are you going to sell them off or you are keeping them for your own collection?

Re: My first platy.

Hi KC,
These platys are among the first ones and majority are still very young. I'll keep a few and sell most of them in a year or two -hopefully:biggrin:

Thanks. They just keep on growing after I take the larger ones out from the box. If they are not attack by fungus or algae I could get a lot of plants from one packet of spores.

It is extremely slow growing. I think it is too warm here.
