Re: Wanna know their scientific name...Tanx!!
I think that's not enough sun light if you hang the pot that way.
The Ping ? The 4th picture is S purpurea purpurea The 5th picture is D nidiformis |

Harlem,
There's a VFT so you have to provide as much sunlight as possible. Congrates for your new plant! |
Re: Wanna know their scientific name...Tanx!!
For sarra, sundew and VFT, to make them happier, please keep it direct sunlight... And give them as much as light you can provide... Please make sure yours water tray didnt dried out!!!!

Hi Harlem, casey is right ... Give you CP(except Nep.) more direct sun light. I am sure they will like it. The plant would not get but but make sure your water tray wont get dried out. |

Re: Wanna know their scientific name...Tanx!!
Harlem,
I'm almost sure you already did so, but my suggestion, transfer all the Nepenthes in one tray and the rest in the other tray. Reason is that Nepenthes do not need water tray all the time, but the others want or need water tray. If you have extra water tray, better to put VFT and Sarracenias in same tray and that keep always full of water (the tray). I totally agree with the others. VFT and Sarracenia, they want as much sunlight as you can give, but again make sure medium and water tray has water so plant root will not overheat. I do not suggest that you keep transfer the VFT and Sarracenia in and out of a spot. Choose a place that has good sunlight, if you can give best sunlight then choose one that has better one compared to the photo you show. The brown roofing in the photo will not allow best sunlight for the VFT and Sarracenias. Maybe okay for the Nepenthes. Ask your dad if you can either take off some of those roofing, or change to clear one, but I think that is a long shot, better find a good place for the sun loving plants you have. TTFN Arvin |
Re: Wanna know their scientific name...Tanx!!
 Hi! Arvin…Thanks for ur instruction…
Actually I already put all the small Neps in one tray. I dun put tray for big Neps because their bottom pots already have cover which can retain water. Then I put my Sarra, VFT and Drosera in two trays. Before that, the seller call me put water tray for Neps if I put outside because scare the sphagnum moss will dry when hot day. Ya! I every morning and evening will go check all the CPs and their tray. I also call my maid help me check it when raining or too hot. Actually in front of my house has a good sunlight, that means the strong sunshine from morning to evening. I dun put my Sarra and VFT out because that place really too hot and maybe will hurt by rain drop. Many plants also become dried up because that strong sunshine. Haha!! Dad sure cant take of some of those roofing or change. He already concede to me and let me plant CPs..That place which I put Cps also is his idea. Maybe will try get permission 1st.Hehe!! Anyway, thanks a lot!!:2thumbup: |
Re: Wanna know their scientific name...Tanx!!
That time I forgot to water my sarra and drosera it was horrible. The new leaves of the sarra are soft and wilting and the drosera is dewless and droppy flowers. Then I put them both inside a container with filtered water and take my time bathing. Then, when I got down to look at my CP....my drosera was floating on the water with the sphagnum nicely intact(like a person in a boat) and the Sarra was half submerge. This did the trick. The sarra's leaves harden and the drosera produced dew again.
