Boy we are really bad parents, talk about forced marriages :)

Where the flower has no choice to do anything but receive pollen or otherwise, die without any use. ;)

Re: Female N Gracilis Flower

Just an update about the flowers. I managed to successfully fertilise about 90% of the female flowers with Athene's pollen eventhough I painstakenly tried dabbing each flower with some pollen. They are swelling up nicely now. This is what I learn playing bee.

1. Even though you dab flowers with pollen, doesn't mean pollination is successful. Some flowers which I am very sure I have pollinated didn't swell up as expected. Moreover ensure quality of the pollen. A note here, Athene gave me the whole male flower and I was too lazy to scrape the pollen off. So I use tweezer to hold the male flower then dab it on the female flowers.
2. I am not too sure how long the female flowers are most viable to receive pollen. Natural process happens during the day and for a couple of days after flowers open. I think I got the latter part okay but I played bee only at night.
3. Working out how long will it take from flowers to fully formed seeds.
4. After that, quality of seeds remains to be seen.
5. Do not do it at night with articifial lighting. Try as you might, some flowers will miss out and very importantly, your eyes will hurt. I did it at night with incadecent lighting and a torchlight in my mouth.

 I can just imagine you with torchlight in your mouth pollinating them flowers at nite! Lucky you weren't mistaken for a prowler !

Btw, how many flower stalks did you manage to pollinate with my pollen? Just want to guesstimate how much pollen is enough for how many stalk.

Wow! That much? I only gave you something like 1/3 worth of a Miranda pollen! Gee that a lot!

Hahaha, Athene's Stud Service at your service!

Congrats in successfully pollinating your flower. I didn't know such little pollen can pollinate so many flowers.
