Looking good.. :) Great growing area, BTW.. I notice you keep your neps with a whole lot of other stuff, orchids and succulents..

just one orchid, which is a cutting from one of my grandma's orchids. It has white flowers. I moved the succulents into my grow room because it is rain season for them right now, which is only two plants =)

Noted in the first photo the rectangular light, was it the plant light system, and in your room how do you maintain the hmidity?

goin' dormant? thats weird..all of my plants are still pitchering, and i raised my balast some more. I was thinking that the stress you have to give them to signal winter time might make them flower, or was hoping.

I don't think they go dormant?probably because it's a H/L

Re: Nepenthes Sanguinea pics =)

nepenthes dont have a distinct dormancy like the flytrap, but neps stop pitchering in the winter till early-mid spring, which acts like a resting period for the plants

Marvin i think thats because their weather is soo cold that the plants slows down in growth

In their natural habitat, they do as well. My plants recieve chill from the window, but there is a heater vent about 4 ft away. Right now, the climate shifts alittle if your near the equater, not alot, but nepenthes will slow down for about 3 months, and then start back in the full swing of things. Where i live, it is snowing now, and the days are really getting shorter. its really dark at 5 pm, and and light out around 7 am. The plants are still pitchering though, and have really taken off since i bought them from par o'beks orchids in august. Just wait till january and february...last year, the snow was piled to the tips of stop signs, and the two lane streets became one because every day they where pushing the snow onto the sides. So basically you had to walk on these 'hills' that they made, and risk slipping down the steep snow banks and getting squished. =P Only thing i am waiting for is to go skiing...wanna do a snow dance, but then it will come early..=.L lol
