hi from kansas
hi folks, nice forum, i'll try to stay active. old guy here, retired from the world of biophysics, we have a mom and pop meteorite shop in kansas, http://www.kansasmeteorite.com
hoping to make some progress this year on the nature center part of the effort. in my youth, had pretty good luck with the usual cp. nepenthes was the holly grail back then (about 25 years ago), now there are in hanging baskets at the hardware store, times have changed. we'll try for a greenhouse this year but that usually means the next year. i grow cactus and was hoping to go retail but have had a terrible time with mealy bugs, tried everything, some potent pesticides, but cant eradicate. never had bug problems with the cp (no pun intended!). just starting up again, few flytraps and a small unidentified nepenthes from said hardware store. all i can think of, lets grow some plants! don :) |
Re: hi from kansas
Welcome to the forum. The Nep from the hardware store is most likely a ventrata. Post a picture and you will no doubt find the answer. Good luck with the glass house.
