Anybody here collects these vines?

I got the common ones on the market (white flowered hoya- H. carnosa me thinks, maroon flowered one, variegated one with pink flowers, long-leaved ones with tiny maroon flowers).

Am looking to add more varieties.

Yep, I'm hooked on them as well! There's a couple old post on the 'old forum' called 'Hoyas Ho" and "Hoyas more" where I posted some pictures and we had some discussions. See if you can still view it.

hi lisham, yep, i'm hooked on to them as well. i find them very very easy growers and they thrive under total neglect!

ps: lisham, was i supposed to send you some drosera cuttings?

I am growing hoya seedlings. Only about 7cm.

Hmmm so what kind eh, the ones that u guys and gals been keeping?

I like them so so much because they thrive under neglect, it's kind hard to purposely not to water plants... And secondly, it gives my neighbor a scare because of the fragrant flower is always extra fragrant at night....

Am looking particularly for Hoya imbricata and Hoya imperialis but anything Hoya also can....

Btw, a big clump of Dischidia imbricata fell off a dead branch at a waterfall in Langkawi...

If everything goes well, I might be giving them away when it's confirmed they'd survive...

Lets see if the seeds germinate.

I managed to get myself some new Hoya and Dischidia... Can anybody ID these plants (just by looking at their leaves) ?

Well Lisham, The first one 'might' be H. nummalarioids but can't really tell from your pictures... if so, it has nice small white flowers usually with a red center and blooms heavily all at once (lots of pendicles at one time).

Second one looks like what we call "lipstick plant", not a hoya but related I think.

I believe you are correct on the H. lacunosa. Not many others with that alligator skin type leaf. Nice small very fragrant flowers.

Next one could be anything! I have a couple that look similiar but think you will have to wait for it to flower to ID correctly.

They just started putting it online. Well worth the download! Their other links on the homepage (in black banner along the top) are also very good. The Thai hoya site, while mostly in Thai script, is still worth a look as most are named in Latin and I saw a lot of great photos with IDs there.

Thanks man for the link! I went back earlier today and saw what I think could be something new... Perched on a mangosteen branch... a hoya with rounded leaves... Sighs...

Anyway... Lots and lots of Dischidia Imbricata fell down due to the stormy weather in Langkawi... Will be posting the pix soon...
