Hello from Tioman Islands, Pahang Malaysia.
 

hello everybody....salam sejahtera!

well wishes to all CP lovers. i am a newbie here. from the past and previous postings here, i have found out a lot of useful tips and vast informations on how, where, why, who, what and more 'w's. i had my first pot of sarracenia years back (which i got to know only recently of its correct name), however due to lack of information, the plant end up in a disaster state. hope that from this forum, i could gain more knowledge, friends and more CPs.......of course!

had a few pictures of my sarras and neps collection and will be posting it up soon in this forum for help on identification.

Your plants are in Tioman island itself or somewhere in the mainland? Woudl you happen to work for Berjaya Hotels? I use to work in the corporate head office of Berjaya Group a couple years back.

yes, i am working with berjaya hotels based in tioman island. what a coincidence! you are attached with the marcomm division? which year was that? my sarras and neps is in the island (infact some of them is in my office). :tongue:

I was not directly with the Hotels and Resorts division but was in the Group's Corporate Communications division. I think that was about 7-10 years ago. Abby Chee was the MarCom Manager in Berjaya Hotels & Resorts at that time. I liaise alot with her especially for information for the annual reports and Beritajaya newsletter. What a small world.

How many years have you been with the Group? I was in Tioman (can't remember the year) before busy organising the first Synergy Workshop for the Group. Not sure if you were already there. Didn't have the chance to enjoy the resort then. It was just work, work, work...

Hey, have you checked around Tioman island for any Nepenthes? found any there? Wonder if there are also any Drosera there. Any swampy areas around within Tioman island? Do show us pictures if you find any CPs there ya?

oh i see, when i first joined abby is still the marcomm person incharge and left a few years later if i could recall correctly. this is my ninth year with berjaya tioman. have scoured around a few 'suspected' spot for neps but still no luck. swampy area, yes there is. sure will post the pictures IF i found them. :laugh:
