When to separate albo seedlings?
1 Attachment(s)
This is a clump of half year old albo seedlings.
They grow very close to each other. Are they big enough to separate out? Their root must be delicate at this size. Should I wait longer? White stick in photo is a toothpick... for size reference...:) Attachment 4534 |
Re: When to separate albo seedlings?
they can be separated now, the new home for them must not be too wet, keep them more shaded for few days after separated, then slowly remove shade, albo does not like too wet media, the root will rot and dead if too wet. They like sun but not high temperature

Re: When to separate albo seedlings?
Thanks... you have much experience with albos.
Does this species have strong tough root at seedling stage? Such that it tolerates transplant shock? |
Re: When to separate albo seedlings?
after having 2 bathces of albo seedlings before and tried a few experiments.. the summary are:
keep the following things : 1) temp <30C all time if possible 2) bright sun but not burning sun/direct sun 3) media not so wet, a little mositure will do 4) once transplant, keep 50% shaded and remove shade slowly after few days. |
Re: When to separate albo seedlings?
forget to add: dun use 100%moss, must add pearlite or something else

Re: When to separate albo seedlings?
Need to postpone the plan... another seed just germinated today among the seedlings... 6.5 months after sown!
Nep seeds notoriously lost viability fast. But some seeds take so long and still alive. Variation is wide, 49-197 days so far if this is the last...:) |
