sounds like basal shot, what is the aggregate size of your truncata?

Re: Nepenthes Truncata question

The Leafs are bigger than my hand so more that 7 inches and the last pot was about 5-6 inches but a new one is growing and looks like it will be bigger
One more thing on average how old does a Truncata have to be to flower?

From what I heard, it takes a long time for Truncata to flower(about 8 years old from seeds) but every one will not have the same timing as we keep ours in different condition, no one knows

Ok that's cool so I have about 4 more years to go lol
But will I be able to cut that lil plant off and root it or would that hurt the plant and if I cut it off could i graft another plant to the cut part.
have you ever heard of anyone a grafting on another plant to the cut?

Nepenthes grafting is an interesting subject and yes it can be done according to this site:
http://carnivore.ic.cz/fotky/pokusy/...g/default.html

I may want to try if i have enough material to work with in the future. So please keep us posted if you decided to go ahead with it.

Do you know if keeping it on the plant will make it grow faster or will it still act like its growing by its self

And what would you do just about every one here has been growing neps longer than me so I'd like input plz keep in mind I live in AZ it can get over 100° F in the days and even now its going to be over 70° F all this week so I grow in glass boxs lol

Growing speed of basal shoot that attached to mother plant is faster compare with the basal shoot that seperated from mother plant.

Thank you for the info

What about the mother will she start to grow any faster if I leave the basals on her once they are bigger or will she just keep growing at the same speed as she has been all this time?
