Personally I think just leaving nature the way it is is the best. Unless rapid deforestation is happening.

I agree that we should avoid disperse foreign species into local habitat at will, especially species that competes for similar resources. There are only so much resource to support limited individuals. If they don't interbreed, the risk of replacing endemic species is high. If they interbreed, the endemic species gene pool is disturbed. Either way, it does not sound good.

At times, it may be necessary to relocate a population due to deforestation and so on. This should be carefully evaluated by professionals.
