New species
 
Hi everyone...

Just to tell you guys this new species has been "named" or whatever you guys called it..I don't know if its in the right thread or what..Anyways you might have seen pics of this nice specimen before...So have i..Anyways its already been described also having info in wikipedia..So heres the link to another forum which has a link for info on this new species..

You mean Nepenthes Dragon??Dragon in Malay is Naga right?

I think a naga is more of snake like water spirt.

Hi guys

Umm i think just think marvin is right cause if you read closely in i think wikipedia naga the malay word = dragon

Well, just to confuse the issue a little more; I live at a place called "Nagalaya" which translates to 'Abode of the Nagas', which are spirits of the waters, typically illustrated as snakes!

The Naga are also a mythical race of serpentine people who live under water.

Another nepenthes been described too. It is Nepenthes Attenboroughii

Nepenthes Naga..cool!

Nagalaya = Naga's Lair? That sounds so magical!

Btw, the malay word for dragon is naga.

And Shawn, does the local in Samui speaks Thai or their own dialect which I believe has very strong influence of the Pattani/Kelantan language due to their close vicinity.

I just noticed that we are getting a lot of newly discovered nepenthes out of Sumatera and other locations in Indonesia, could this have anything to do with the greater interest in the plants among the Indonesian?
