Thanks for sharing... Really great neps.. BTW, how much does the average merilliana hybrid cost..? I'm keen to try one because I like big, big pitchers, but am not sure where to obtain them locally.. What would you recommend..? Thanks :)

Thanks for your comment. As far as I know, only EP produced extensive range of hybrids with N. merrilliana. For now, you can get those hybrids from Fauzi or find those nursery that sell YG's nep since YG also started carrying EP's hybrids. Hope this help.

PS : FYI hybrids with N. truncata will also tends to produce big big pitchers.

Hey Rob!
Good start for an exercise :)

N. kongkandana is for sure N. kongkandana because I guess - I hope - you collected seeds or cuttings from the areas where we found this species.

About unknown 1,2,3, we should understand if they are natural hybrids or if they were produced in a greenhouse. Unfortunately, many new hybrids have been made in captivity. If we don't know the province of origin of the mother plants, we can't know what they are. You should ask the seller if the seeds/cuttings of n. 1,2,3 have been produced in captivity or if they are from the wild.

UPDATE: giving a better look, it seems to me that unknown 1 is N. andamana x mirabilis var. globosa, unknown 2 is N. suratensis from Kanchanadit and unknown 3 is a man-made hybrid.

Hi Cello,
How are you doing? Thanks for your help in IDing the Thai neps.

All I can say, those Thai neps species/hybrids I posted originated from southern Thailand. As for Unknown 3, I should have mentioned it's a man made hybrid (possibly N. x coccinea x mirabilis) ... sorry about that. :shy:

Unknown 1 is from Bangkok, probably from Neofarm and could be one of those nep that they labeled as N. Giant Tiger

Unknown 2 is a plant I got from a seller in southern Thailand. I'm not sure where it originated but I will take pics of it's leaves and stems to give u a better idea.

There's a few more unknown neps (got some idea just need to be confirm) I got from Thailand, I will post them with more detailed pics showing the leaves and stems in your thread regarding help in IDing a Thai nep. This way, others have reference and be able to learn how to properly ID these neps.

Anyway, thanks for offering your experties in helping us IDing these Thai neps, it's time we put all these Tigers and Giant Tigers behind us. :1thumbup:
