Fridge Dormancy

we live in the tropics where the winter is warm-hot and the days never get shorted.so,we must provide dormancy for the temperate guys by fridging it.i heard b4 that ppl in Malaysia had try dormancy their plant by putting it under shade without water tray etc etc...but this tpe of dormancy around 50%wont work.its because VFTs can go to sleep or dormant by this factors:

Temps 12degrees celcius and below(it can survive slight froze like -1)

Days getting shorter(less light)

If malaysia had a month where it will rain day to night all the month or more, maybe u can put ur plant in dormancy by the shading way but our country's weather isnt stable.it can be 25celcius in the days and get upto 28celcius at night or so...

heres a link for a fridge dormancy tutorial to those who havent visit this

http://www.flytrapcare.com/venus-fly-trap-dormancy/fridge-dormancy-tutorial.html

as i said b4,for fridging it,u need to put it somewhere shade for a week or more b4 u fridging it.also, many ppl said their traps died bcoz of the fridge dormancy.theres 2causes why they die

From direct sunlight to fridge immedietly

From Fridge to outdoors immedietly.

well...hope this helps to those who face fridge dormancy problem.Lastly, they need to be put atleast 3months in dormancy

Best Wishes:biggrin:
