P. gypsicola pics
P. gypsicola pics,
I have been told that gypsicola needs a long dry period, but I keep mine damp to wet all year long and it goes in and out of winter stage with no problems. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...1978/GYPS1.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...1978/GYPS2.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...1978/GYPS3.jpg Peace, Zero |

Eh...how they digest?Won't the digestive juices spill all over?
|
Re: P. gypsicola pics
no no
on pinguicula you have 2 glands one to catch the insect it is the mucilage ( sticky) and an other to digest these one . in fact it is the same system like drosera-drosophyllum-byblis jeff |

Re: P. gypsicola pics
Well, I'm from Singapore and I grow it. One grows in peat and perlite, the other on sphagnum. Neither gives and problems, even when grown on the tray system. They don't seem to need the dormancy period so far.

Re: P. gypsicola pics

Re: P. gypsicola pics
I have had the ping for 2 years I think.
IIRC, They grow in gypsum soil that's where they get there name from. My media contains crushed coral for mineral supplement. Quote:
