Pictures of recent plant show in Penang

Okay, I'll start off with picts of orchids first as these just got loaded in photobucket. They were randomly arranged. Sorry folks, don't ask me what are the names. I'm totally an alien to their names. Perhaps some orchid enthusiast can point out which is what.

Enjoy the eye candies!

Jonas, my picts only cover a fraction of what's displayed there. Some of the flowers were already in bad condition when I photographed them especially the paphios. Should have taken them on the opening day instead.

Seedlings are often very red, but adult plants are less so.

I really appreciate this. The presentation and arrangement is really good. Too bad the plant is not mature enough.

Paphioboy, I'm not in orchid's circle, need to ask you this question. Is this cornu cervi only one of it's kind...I mean rare? Heard it cost 4 figures for that plant!
That's why I photograph it.

Re: Bonsai & Adenium.

Hi Andy,as far as i know i remember asking the lady about the price of this cornu cervi red in OUG orchid garden. If Im not wrong the seedling costs about Rm30+.That is if you have the patience to grow it ,haha.

paphioboy 14th June 2009 09:54 AM

Re: Bonsai & Adenium.

Red cornu-cervi used to be rare and cost a bomb, but apparently now its quite easy to get and affordable in Singapore. I've yet to see any sold where I live, though..

kit, cornu-cervi is the easiest phal to grow. Its extremely hardy and blooms forever.. :D A good-sized seedling should take 2 years to bloom. And it will continuously give you more and more spikes, remaining in flower for most of the year.. :)
