It's two birds with one stone . For me, amp pitchers and does well as long as you keep the media wet and humidity stable. If it flowers, tell us. Hee hee.....

Ellen, if you want to flower the amps, you'll need to expose it to stronger sunlight, preferbly direct sunlight at this stage for it's vining stems and leaves. If you decide to do this (at your own risk), please do it step by step because the plants you just got was probably in a weaken stage and you need to nurse it back to full health before doing so. I think will probably take you another 3-4 months before you shd try what I suggested if you wanted it to flower. My tiny 2 cents... *biggrin2* |
Re: Hey N. ampullaria

Re: Hey N. ampullaria
Most neps will flower after they reach vining stage (ie. producing intermediate / upper pitchers) provided they recieve ample sunlight and were in healthy condition. Stress also known to induce flowring but usually those flower will not produce strong offspring (seed/pollen) or the end results (seeds) might not be viable.

Re: Hey N. ampullaria
But strangely, my N.gracilis never have it's pitcher changing....all it were produce was just same type and small pitcher only even though i keep it in good condition that i can provide.....

Re: Hey N. ampullaria
N. gracilis usually has small pitchers. Maybe you need to expose it to more sunlight and repot the plant.
