Thats one heck of a way to introduce yourself into the forum, Myso! With so many well grown plants! Welcome to PP, Myso! Keep us updated!
|
Re: My collection
Thanks guys :).
Actually im not sure if its veitchii pink or Nepenthes x lebih. If anyone can help me to identify it, ill be very grateful! I initially just though it was a normal veitchii variant. |
Re: My collection
Thank you guys :).
aphos - i actually dont know if its a veitchii pink, or if its a nepenthes x lebih, they both look similar to each other! |
Re: My collection
Hi and welcome to PP.. :)

Re: My collection
Thanks guys, but my collection is nothing compared to some of you!
Btw i dont know if thats a veitchii pink, or a nepenthes x lebih. |
Re: My collection
Thank you guys :)
Some updates shots, Mirabilis x (thorelli x trusmadiensis) pitcher is developing well, couple of days till it opens perhaps? Im heading to Kota kinabalu on jan 4th, hoping to see N rajah in one of their parks or something, when i return this little guy should open up nicely! http://i44.tinypic.com/69dfld.jpg Next, N veitchii pink/ ?N x lebih? http://i44.tinypic.com/28ip6z6.jpg N (viking x amp) x viking http://i44.tinypic.com/bhm24p.jpg Nepenthes miranda, quite a fresh pitcher, still very small compared to the pitcher it had when it was dosed with ferts in the floral store. http://i39.tinypic.com/wwlooi.jpg Hmm, some droseras? http://i40.tinypic.com/34pywlk.jpg Oh and my N truncata x ephippiata has sunburn...i think :(, guess i gotta create a frame and hang some black netting to dapple the light. Im quite confused though as they only receive full morning light and not long hours of afternoon sun. Guess i was wrong! http://i40.tinypic.com/f1a2d.jpg Thanks for viewing :) |
Re: My collection
thanks guys, my collection is nothing compared to others.
Im also not sure if my veitchii pink is indeed a veitchii pink, or a nepenthes x lebih. A few more pictures, some bad news... not sure what is this, but it happened on my truncata x ephippiata... if anyone knows what is the cause and what i can do fix this, please tell me, thanks :). http://i40.tinypic.com/f1a2d.jpg Some droseras? http://i40.tinypic.com/34pywlk.jpg Miranda pitcher, quite a fresh one! http://i40.tinypic.com/34no7cx.jpg In the first post, the pitcher of the veitchii pink was still not fully opened, this is when its peristome flared up http://i44.tinypic.com/28ip6z6.jpg Nepenthes mirabilis x (thorelli x trusmadiensis) pitcher is going to open soon! http://i44.tinypic.com/69dfld.jpg This is my vivarium where i keep my nepenthes rajah, heres a vid since i dont have full pics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YcPx...f_nQNPZ37wc2gT Thanks for viewing :). |
Re: My collection
Wow, I envy your vivarium and the fact that you can grow a rajah! I think that's a sunburn on your truncata x ephippiata.
|
Re: My collection
Thanks, my vivarium doesnt look like that at all right now haha! The moss has all grown a lot more. I will take an update video when im free :). I think so too, i will have to give them some shade cloth. I thought in January the afternoon sun doesnt hit my nepenthes, but i was wrong haha. Just hope the pitcher that is forming doesnt get burnt off!
|
Re: My collection
Your vivarium is cooled by an air conditioning system? If you can keep it cool, exposing it to direct afternoon sunlight won't harm your neps :) they'll colour up!
|
Re: My collection
Yes, only my nepenthes rajah is living in the vivarium though haha!
I have the air conditioner temperature set at 23 degrees, than i have 4 fans. 2 of the fans are on 24/7 to provide air circulation during the day and at around 10pm, 2 powerful fans will be turned on by a timer to cool the tank down even further. This will cause humidity levels to lower, so im installing a humidifier in tonight(its on the way here right now) and from that, i will see how it goes! For my outdoor neps, im afraid i cant do much to help them escape from the sun except place a shade cloth. |
Re: My collection
Hey guys! Just finished installing my new humidifier a few minutes ago! Enjoy these few pics, and take a look at the video :).
Whole look at the humidifier! Brand : Advante. Holds 4.5litres of water i think... http://i42.tinypic.com/3012eet.jpg So i removed the green cap at the top, and fastened my piping. May not look pretty, but it gets the job done! http://i42.tinypic.com/xktao7.jpg Notch for controlling the mist. I set it to the higher side, but not maximum. http://i40.tinypic.com/fokizm.jpg And finally, here is what the tank looks like when i turn the notch to maximum! http://i39.tinypic.com/10s6tf4.jpg Btw, i have a question. I'll be visiting kota kinabalu tomorrow as im heading there to take pictures of the infamous nepenthes rajah. Do you think my N rajah can tolerate a little heat in the night for a few days? Anyway, the video is up! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhOQPEIpkIs&context=C3b94479ADOEgsToPDskIt le8RdI9bZn-8_Ll1BPUL Sorry the video is rotated... i took the video with my camera rotated and now i cant edit it...Also, youtube blocked my music! lol! it was just music i was listening to while filming...Anyway, try to enjoy ;). |
