Edward, I got it from a fellow forum member.. the plant was initially smaller than I expected.. Luckily it didn't dry out during transportation...

Ken, the pot is 5 inches in diameter.. I didn't want to put too much medium in case the medium becomes too compact or soggy.. I used a mixture of leca, fern root, limesrone and a bit of sphagnum only...

Hmmm, at least your northiana isn't going to be that cramped up in the pot, paphioboy. If you are using limestone, then you shouldn't be too worried about the media becoming compact.

Just a thought since they live in limestone cliffs i guess most probally they don't live in a wet soil? And more drainage is required?

That's what I thought, Ken.. I'm a but surprised that most CPers grow them in sphag.. I think sphag is too acidic and wet for their liking.. I make my medium based on what I can see from pics of northiana growing in situ.. I belief that it actually needs a very well drained medium because it grows on vertivcal limestone cliffs, which are very exposed to surroundings, but it needs to rest its pitchers on a moist surface for them to develop (as can be seen from pics of wild northiana pitchers, always resting on moist detritus).. :)
