Re: Pitcher's Pic
Wah, so lovely!!! :wub::wub::wub:
The distillatoria's colour is something different. The last picture too. What nep is that (last pic)? |
Re: Pitcher's Pic
Ed,
Would you know what hybrid is that on the alst picture? I like the dark brown colour and maroon peristome. Quite an attractive plant. I wonder sometimes how many species and plants you have. Every now and then you seuprise us with more beautiful and rare forms. Good growing... |
Re: Pitcher's Pic
 Ed..u get many nice Neps..so wonderful! :1thumbup::1thumbup:
I more like x hookeriana, they look so cute and round..especially the 1st photo, the colour is quite sharp... |
Re: Pitcher's Pic
Ed, you got some very nice and rare plants there... thanks for sharing

Re: Pitcher's Pic
to all: thanks for the compliments.
@TS: the distillatoria is actually the 'purple color' form, I just love the squat and tubular form of it, this one is just going upper. TS got the 'last picture hybrid' from Singapore - u know who. @David: only a few neps in my collections, still have long way to go compare with some senior growers. Glad u guys like the pictures posted. Hybrids ID: spectabilis x beccariana (?); alata Giant x spectabilis; merriliana x alata and last one is mirabilis x (ventricosa x truncata) |
Re: Pitcher's Pic
nice neps! Nice colouration too!!

Re: Pitcher's Pic

Was the mirabilis a dark maroon clone? On second thought, the peristome and pitcher does look like mirabilis's. Looks like mirabilis genes is the dominant genes here |

Nice neps! Thanks for sharing.

Re: Pitcher's Pic
@David: yes, for this one really the mirabilis gene is way more dominance than the other, will like to see how will the upper looks like. I am not sure which mirabilis was used, never asked the crosser. But looking at the siblings, some got red pitcher, some green, some with same coloration as mine but without the wings. Anyway, that is the fun of seeds grown neps, none of the seedling will turn out the same.

Re: Pitcher's Pic
An update on my truncata grown from 7 cm pot, eventually after 2 years and 3 months it got some peristome now:

Re: Pitcher's Pic

|
Re: Pitcher's Pic
Hi alcran,
Got to measure it, I will come back to you Ed |
Re: Pitcher's Pic
Is that the clone from MT Ed?
Well here's mine though: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/5a0d2cee42.jpg BTW,nice pics! |
Re: Pitcher's Pic
Hey does your truncata have a reddish brown peristrome after it starts to fold back cause mine does...
Ken |
Re: Pitcher's Pic
Mine has a nice shiny brown peristome when it folds back.
|
Re: Pitcher's Pic
@alcran: the size is only 8,5 inch for that one on the picture
@aliamyz: Yes, from MT . @kentosaurs: the pitcher before, was folded back and got reddish brown color on the peristome. Will see about this one, I will update the picture if the color changes. Ed |
Re: Pitcher's Pic
I have a special technique to keep the peristome from folding.I did this to two of my mirandas and my truncata and it worked.

Re: Pitcher's Pic
Hi guys
My truncata i don't know if its a problem or not but it doesn't hold more than 2 pitchers at a time...I've heard of this happening...But well its also happening to me..Anyways my truncata pitchers is around 18-19cm and has little signs of wings on them though...Ali so far i've never tried not folding the pitchers peristrome back but by accident once awhile when the pitcher is in between another plants leaves and its blocking the passage on folding back then it won't fold back much..
