N. veitchii
 

Larger plants of this species don't do consistently well for me. Maybe because of insufficient lighting or humidity...I am not sure. But lately, a male plant which flowered is back to pitchering again. The leaf is the same size as the developing pitcher at 3.5".

N veitchii's are slow and sensitive growing plants.I can't really relate to N veitchii because i dont have one but i have a N veitchii x fusca which didn't do well for me at the start but has been a consistently pitchering for me but most of the other pitchers which came with it dried off.The biggest pitcher it has now came with it and its around 10cm tall but the biggest i grew is only around 3/4 that size.But i think it takes time to adjust to my new enviroment so now i think its happy.

Anyway whats the plant behind in the background some kind of pine??

Ken, that is some kind of fern, likely Lycopodium clavatum.

A week later, the Orang Utan develops a slight hunchback and belly. :laugh:

Cindy, This nep specie can grow in Singapore? As in hot and humid enviroment? Or aircon? You keep in indoors or outdoors? Itching to buy one, scratch scratch scratch....

This is a cutting from another grower. He bought the plant from Malesiana Tropicals years ago as N. veitchii 'Hose Mountain'. So it is a highland form. This is the second pitcher for me. After the first pitcher, it flowered in May and took the longest time till now to recover.

Wow you must have waited a very very long time before the veitchii starts growing and pitchering.Didn't you cut the flower stalk?
Your veitchii is rrreeeeaaaalllyyyy slow growing by the looks of the pitcher.After a week and its still pretty much the same size hahaha.Well everybody knows that veitchiis are slow growers.

It ballooned up very fast. But during the last week, it has slowed down. Today, it opened! I'll post a pic later.

It is planted in the usual sphagnum moss and perlite.
