Quick Q bout dormant nodes

Hi everyone.....Just a quick question...When i cut of a part of the main stem and the dormant buds start to sprout so do they produce upper pitchers or make lowers???? BTW the nodes which are coming to live are on the uppermost part of the main stem..I cut my miranda and was hoping basals but only nodes started sprouting:sweating:

Depend on the species/hybrid itself.. sometimes it's becoming lower, sometimes it's becoming upper..

Hi dnw

Those nodes that are coming to live are on the part of the stem which is already making uppers....And its a miranda...Anybody can share some light on this?

I'd guess it would make immature pitchers while the leaves on the node remains small. It might make mature pitchers for a little bit before switching to uppers.

Anyone has done this before??? if you are right alcran it'll be so nice....All of a sudden a bunch of nice lower miranda pitchers appear at the same level of upper pitchers..

If I remember correctly, someone mentioned that if you do a cutting on a vine that is producing lowers, then you get lowers first, if the cutting is already producing uppers, then you get uppers. I can confirm this, my x indah cuttings are all producing uppers coz they were cuttings of a vine that are producing uppers already.

My miranda has a leaf like structure below every leaf on the main stem. But it doesn't enlarge nor grow pitchers. But I don't worry. Hehehe my miranda has a lot of basals and is flowering now.
