New low price for some EP species & hybrids

Hi folks,
This is the latest update from EP
http://www.exoticaplants.com.au/welc...id=3&newsid=30

The pricing is much cheaper now compared to last time. N. lowii x campanulata used to go for AUS50 and N. veitchii (k) was sold at AUS60.

Another interesting hybrid N. lowii x boschiana is back on the pricelist @ AUS40. I have one and it had no problem even in current hot and dry weather in Malaysia thanks to the N. boschiana parent from MT.

Those interested can contact Fauzi directly as he's organizing an order.

BTW, anyone want to get a N. lowii x truncata for AUS400 <choked> ??

they've got really nice selections there, too bad as i wont be able to enjoy
them soon as the price is too much for my budget, not to mention the added
cost of having them shipped....

Hmmm....great plants and I'm tempted. I wonder though whether N. lowii x campanulata can grow in a terrarium with a temperature of 28-30 Celsius? The catalogue says it's intermediate.

Thx....I just checked out the lowii x truncata. Apparently, they only have cuttings, perhaps thats why it's so expensive. Speaking of which, EP has some really superb hybrids, particularly northiana x veitchii (my point of view).

Re: New low price for some EP species & hybrids

From my point of view, N. lowii x campanulata is not as adaptable to L/L if compared it to other intermediate hybrids like N. veitchii H/L x boschiana, N. x Gothica and others... I always can't get multiple pitchers with N. lowii x campanulata, the best is only 2 pitchers at one time. It's sensitive to humidity.... That's just me, maybe others have better results...

At least you get 2 pitchers at a time Rob,for me only 1 pitcher at a time. The other pitcher won't start inflating before the previous pitcher opens.

How bizarre behaviour..:spinning:Have anyone experienced this??

Hi Ali,
It's not a strange behaviour, that's how the plant response to unfavorable conditions. Eventhough this hybrid can adapt to L/L condition, it's still not comparable to the adaptability to some of of the "intermediate" hybrids I listed ealier. Perhaps since this is a seed grown plant, there should be different variability to the adaptability for each different plant, just so happen mine is not the one that can adapt to L/L condition better... :sweating:

Re: New low price for some EP species & hybrids

Well, I hope mine will adapt to L/L conditions without problems. Maybe because campanulata is close to intermediate conditions, thats why the plant doesn't easily adapt to L/L conditions. One parent is H/L, the other is closer to intermediate....just observing, may not be right.

On the other hand, lowii x truncata is very tempting....but extremely expensive

Too late. All lowii x truncata seem to be gone. They aren't on the list anymore.

Just got my lowii x campanulata today. For the old more expensive price because I ordered already in october. Doesn't matter ... happy that I got it :)

It's nice and healthy. Not so spectacular yet but it's a young plant. Here are two pics

Yes, I did. A lowii x campanulata.

Boris, that is ONE nice young nep. Seems like I'm not going to regret my decision on buying that nep. Even at that size, the peristome is colourful....:1thumbup:
