I guess I've overfed it with half the number of trap eating a variety of meat stuff like flies, spider and giant ants

the rainy weather hit for the past 2 weeks, and now...the trap closing up at the speed of...slow motion(like Keanu Reeves in Matrix), could it be preparing for dormancy?:sweating:

Your plant was confused by the cool weather, it is now most probably going dormancy.

thanks for the info, what else should i do other than moving it(with the water tray) to some where shady? tq

Not with the water tray anymore.Just water it every few days like that.(but don't let it dry out,like mine and the shpagnum moss shrunk back)

Nice, if possible try taking pics when the plant is in action.( killing bugs ..hehe)

right now venus flytraps are buried under snow here in my yard, and they are dormant. Your best bet is to put him in the crisper of your fridge, and seal him in a one gallon plastic baggy. fungicide is best, especially for dormant species like pitcher plants and some forms of sundews. hope this helps
