2nd Malaysia CP Competition (31 May -7 June, Penang Flora Fest 2009)
The second Malaysia carnivorous plants competition is coming!!
There are 5 categories for the competition: 1) Nepenthes species 2) Nepenthes hybrid 3) Sarracenia 4) Drosera 5) Dionaea A Gold, Silver and Bronze prize will be awarded to each of the categories. Prizes in cash money and winner certificate to be awarded as below: Gold= RM 300 Silver=RM 200 Bronze= RM 100 Each participant are encouraged to submit as many CPs as they can. No need register fee! The organiser will NOT BE RESPONSIBLE for any Losses and DAMAGES of any nature resulted from any unforeseen circumstances. The closing date for registration is on 29th May 2009. Lim,
I think we should also post the guidelines for the competion together with the criterier for judging so members can prepare their plants for the competition. Also they would not enter plants that does not match the criterier or guidelines. Has the guidelines been approved? |

Please refer to the updated Guidelines below. I have included Ch'ien Lee's coments. Basically the changes are in the Terms and Conditions under point 4 and 5, and the Judging Criteria for Nepenthes section. Also I have removed the registration fee column and the clause that only 10 plants can be entered into the competition:

Just spoke to Eric from Penang. He can deliver the plansts back to those who are in Kuala Lumpur after the event on 10 June 2008. Your plants will be placed in his nursery from 7-10 June before he transport it back to Kuala Lumpur.
I may be going. Have some obstacle to overcome. If I go, I will be able to help take some plants there. However, not many as my family might be going as well. So the car will be pack. |

I would like put some plants in but I think there would a slight problem getting them there and really big problem trying get them back *biggrin2*

Lim and Eric,
I won't be able to make it to Penang this weekend for the competition. It's been hectic for me lately. My son just recovered from HFMD (Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease) or the Coxsackie virus. I've also been working weekends on Saturdays and Sundays for the past few weeks too. Family needs me home this weekend. Hope you guys understand. |

The grower grows the n mac in highland condition. The N. veitchii competed in last year's competiton. Think this one is the hightland tree climbing type.
