Nice pics Wong, thanks for sharing. You found any N. mirabilis?

Wong 13th October 2009 12:08 AM

Re: Wild Nepenthes

No N Mirabilis and N Albomarginata found by me yet. Found some N Mirabilis in Selangor.

Re: Wild Nepenthes

Thanks for answering, I just want to confirm the distribution of N. mirabilis in peninsular Malaysia, looks like they're not found in Johor.

Wah that black gracilis.....Has quite some size on it...Never thought a form like that is on P.Malaysia...

Re: Wild Nepenthes

Not sure if that is a true black form of gracilis as the inside of the pitchers are green and those that are not coverwed with dirt are dark maroon. It may be a dark maroon form but this has very consistent colors on the entire pitcher.

The third picture of the raff (upper pitcher) is really nice. Love the large wings and stout look.

By the way Wong, I've helped you attach the pictures on your post so they appear rather than a link. :)

Kentosaur,
Those 'Black' Gracilis are found together with the common green ones. I saw many N Gracilis in Johor which are quite dark in color but I only post the most 'Black' one.

David,
Thanks for your help in getting the picture displayed.

Marvin1997,
The Raff in the picture is found together with those wingless upper pitcher. It is a Raff.

I think it's actually an "intermediate" pitcher.... wings will be gone once it's fully upper.

It's true the "wings" disappeared in the uppers.

Nice plants growing in the wild. That light green "hooker" is kinda nice. Was there one with only green colour on it?

Wong 16th October 2009 11:52 PM

Re: Wild Nepenthes

David,

Actually, for me, it very difficult to find N Hookeriana, the one you see is all that I managed to find. I think it should be possible to have green only hook, why not? Only haven't found yet. :2thumbup:

NepNut 17th October 2009 09:49 PM

Re: Wild Nepenthes

I found a green N. hookeriana in Johor that only have minimal speckle on the wings and slightly striped peristome, guess I was lucky.

I didn't took any pictures because the stem is too far away from my reach. I'm not ready to storm into the bush for that picture yet.*biggrin2* The light is not bright enough also, it was getting late already.:2thumbup:
