Hi Guys/Gals,

Noticed this little pitcher on the climbing stem of my amp. Would this be an upper pitcher of an amp? Never seen one before.

ok... thanks.. interesting cos at first i tot it was not as i found a picture of an amp upper pitcher in a book and it looked different. The pic in the had one that was more 'cone' shaped.

any update on your amp upper pitcher development? i have this one which i suspect its an upper pitcher too.....guys, any comment? :confused:

thanks....i've just managed to google thru yesterday and saw some pics like yours (or does this plant belongs to you?:wub:)....does all the uppers has the distinctive heart shape peristome? sorry, so many questions and hijacked jixxxs's thread...btw, do you have the latest updated pics of the pitcher's development? would like to see it....*biggrin2*

sorry no updated photos as it was taken in the wild.Unless i pass by on another field trip through that area. some of my photos were used in wikipedia ( with permission ).

No all uppers will have heart shape. overall the uppers will stay cup shape hanging in mid air upside down at different angle. They dont serve any purpose to the plants ( read somewhere ) but does serve as residence to spiders.
