Re: Largest Pitcher in the world

Hi rsivertsen

N northiana might be one of the candidate for the largest pitcher in the world, but i dont think that N sumatrata can produce monster size pitchers like truncata or rajah. Then i again i might be wrong

I thought so too until I saw a recent post with pitchers just as large as N. merriliana or N. rajah! Here's a link:

Northiana can reach about 1 feet but sumatrana is in a 'monster gang' guys.
Who says sumatrana is not big.the leaves are enormous too.

Re: Largest Pitcher in the world

N. nothiana can get well over 12 inches in length! In fact, I have a photocopy of a [Kew] Garners Chronicles of a N. northiana in a two page spread, (measuring 8.5 x 11) across the two pages, and at the bottom was a footnote saying 2/3 actual size! and have seen photos of the larger intermediate pitchers as well. - Rich
