biggest nepenthes in penang
 

these big neps are situated at roundabout at teluk bahang penang. It has been there for few months, i only noticed them few days ago. just to share with all .

This is one of the most realistic Nepenthes monuments I have seen. Really beautiful. Good job to the Penang government.

one of my fren, who lives about 100m away from the mock nep, told me that they neps actually come ready in 3 pieces, they just weld them together and do some touch up, i wonder they are made of fiberglass...using mold

i forget to mention that this roundabout is located at about 1-2 km away from the HQ office of Taman Negara /reserved forest of penang, Teluk Bahang forest, which many of penang CP members has organised a group outing in 2009.

I remember another monument like that, also at a roundabout. But I forgot where. Good job to the Penang government for making this wonderful realistic monument.

I've been here during my last penang trip...I saw it at night....A little further up there is a nice seafood restoran :)

Just a thought, when i saw it i "identified" it in my mind as ampullaria albo and sanguinea but i don't there are sanguineas in penang are there?

Wow, that's nice.. :) I'm proud to be a Penangite.. hehe.. Its a much better sculpture compared to the one that I saw in Kuching...

Thanks for sharing!! They look really nice! Also yeah great local government to actually make it, just shows that they do care about the CPs in Penang!

who say no sanguinea in penang ? many CP ppl in penang got sanguinea at home !!! i got few !!:laugh::laugh:

wah nice!! Good to see goverment is playing a part in raising awareness... Nepenthes is one of our national heritage too... :1thumbup:

If I remembered correctly, I also saw a pitcher monument by the roadside some where in Terengganu or Pahang. Can't remember the exact location by it was in an town area.

Beautiful! If only you can find a monument this detailed and amazing in Kuala Lumpur, everyone would be attracted by it!

Sadly, the pitcher plant monument near pudu raya isn't as attractive as this monument.
