Re: my northiana
Wel, both have mostly the same light requirement like other neps, but don't simply move northiana around when it has already acclamatized. It will end up in VERY slow growth. I told Fauzi that I will buy from him northiana later since they are wee small and young.

Re: my northiana
I think you can't compare Sumatrana with Northiana, both are different in nature and league.
Growing Northiana has its fair share of challenges, but if you are patient and observant to your plant's needs, nothing is impossible, even in a polluted and hazy KL city's apartment balcony. Finally, I went one better on my sifu. :D http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...DSC00176_r.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...DSC00192_r.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...DSC00174_r.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...DSC00175_r.jpg |

Re: my northiana
Wah edward chill don't make your growlist expand so fast.....What i meant was...Slowly learn how to care for the easier ones first then slowly move to the top...But well if you think you can make it thrive like all the si fu here then no prob go ahead!!

Re: my northiana
Guys,
I just reused the old pictures I had posted before. It was the same bunch. Now, some new pitchers have come and gone, but it's still developing larger and larger pitchers. Lately, one new pitcher ended up nearer the balcony railing and got a lot of the morning sun. The colour is darker red and nicer, I'll wait for it to stop growing before taking a picture. All the pitchers tends to be "fatter" as compared to Robert's. It could be that mine is thinking that it is a "basal" plant because all the pitchers settles nicely on pots nearby. I had this plant for 2 years + now, it was planted from cutting from a friend. I have no idea how old the original plant is. |
Re: my northiana
I didn't know plants could think......well, you are lucky that you got a cuting from your friend. I am still trying to get a hang of nep cutting, my miranda cutting was a liitle failure where the new young roots stuck to the sides of the cutting and died. I reused the cutting again.
I wonder which is the best media for northiana? I will be tackling another type first before northiana. Cheers |
