Took us quite a while to find a site with Neps and we were starting to get dissapointed. We were also rushing for time. A few sites look like they are just perfect for Nepenthes but we could not find any. If there are it's just a few N. gracilis. Oddly tho' we could not find any N. mirabilis in all these sites. |
Re: Nepenthes South of Peninsular Malaysia
Nice to see wild neps. They indeed grow better in wild.I was 2 years in johor but could not find much neps.I guess it was well hidden from me.

Basically what I snapped, David had already posted. But still I have a few to contribute, hehe.
The "apple tree", a stem full of pitchers. What a magnificent view at that site, these "trees" were all around us! No kidding! Attachment 981 The upper pitchers tangling on top the trees. Attachment 983 The two guys were already so far away from me when I was shooting some photos, they shouted me to take a snap for them. Here's a zoomed shot. Attachment 984 One of the shot I took was this..... a giant platycerium coronarium that growing high on the tree top. Attachment 985 |
