New Trio latest Nepenthes

10 Attachment(s)
Hi
I've just came back from New Trio and bought a couple of plants. Here are some pictures I took when I was there, these plants I did not buy yet. ;-) There are a couple more mirabilis, raff, ... which I did not take a picture of.

Anyway, here they some very quick shots from my hp as I was rushing off. They have quite a number of cephalotus and sarra as well as vft as well but I did not take the photographs. Sorry for the blur photos, was in a rush.

Also, I've chat with the owner James, he is passing me a price list. I believe their plants are from YG. I'll inquire interest for bulk order if he manage to get hold of the list for me.

IMHO, the plants are quite good size, the price also left a good size hole in my pocket. ;-) Considering that life is short, I believe these plants are worth it. For example, bought a truncata at 1/2 the price recently. However, the size is like a third of the new truncata I got today. Anyways, more picture tonight when I unload my plants.

Yup, casey is right. Tropicana.

BTW. Photo 2 is I believe jungle bell or something like that. Should be a nice one.

The last picture, if I recall correctly, N. x Kanuka or something like that. I might be wrong though, as it looks like albo as well. Was quite rush today, did not take all the names but quite a few ventricosa and its hybrids.

Wait a minute, I am missing a picture. This one could be N. x Kanuka or something like that.

Yes, YG finally release some nep hybrids from EP. There'll be more EP plants to come.

Pic 6 is EP's N. Exotic Lady = N. maxima x talangensis (reverse cross of BE's N. Lady Pauline). There'll be also N. x Jungle Bell and N. x Gothica available.

Off topic... May I know what you means by reverse cross of BE's N. Lady Pauline ?

It's basically reversing the parent of the cross. For example, BE's N. Lady Pauline is N. talangensis x maxima wheresas EP's N. Exotic Lady is N. maxima x talangensis. Reverse cross sometimes product similar hybrids but sometimes also produce hybrids that might be different looking and more vigorous or vice versa. Hope this help.

I dont know that the way hybrid name is written means difference. May I know the 1st name is refer to female parent plant or male?

Thanx for the information...

Re: New Trio latest Nepenthes

The first name is always the female parent, follow by male.

It is a hybrid. N. ventricosa x sibuyanensi, aka jungle bells. Very tempted to get this but... I believe pitchers are opened now.
