Mine also 0 germination on nep.

PM some interesting offer......

rhealk 9th September 2010 12:59 PM

Re: Last time group purchase, yours seeds starting to sprout?

Haha, I mean they can grow very fast and start to produce new plants fast too. That's what happening to those sundews (adult plants) I purchased last time. One become 2 and these continue to multiple and multiple.
So this time I purchased 100 seeds of sundews of a single type and if even half germinated, guess what happen when they matured and start to multiple? They will be like weeds. Its good for those who are selling but for hobbyist, duh, I have to keep cracking head where to put them! And that's why I say I should not purchase soooo much seeds last time.

Hi rhealk,

I actually seperate the seeds into 2 containers and place one outdoor but at shaded area. The other i put inside an aquarium and place it in my room. Turn on the light from 9am to 8pm. From 10pm to 8am aircond on with setting at 23 degree. Mine are HL nep seeds so i reckon the conditions are conducive for them but so far still no germination. Maybe it's still too early to tell so i'll just give it a little more time and see how it goes.

dip the media in boiling water and then flush them under clean water (RO or distil water) , after u sow the seed, cover them and leave small gap. I am doing this all the while to minimise the mold, some time no mold at all,

I see. Smart way to get rid of those irritating stuff.
Looks like time for my nep seeds to move house.

Mine also got mold in the beginning but since i leave a bit of gap like Boon did the problem did not arise anymore.

Yay. My amp x gracilis have sprouted. I guess anything that comes with gracilis will have faster germination. Other seeds are still sleeping.

do u guys sterilize the media b4 using it?sterilizing it prevents fungus, algae and some sorts of things that grow on ur media besides plants.i sterilize my sphagnum moss and keep it in a air tight humid place for 5months no fungus and algea growing so far
