Re: Victoria Amazonica
I've never tested the limit but it can carry a lot as long as you distribute the weight.
There is a network of veins on the underside of the leaf and that is relatively sturdy but the leaf itself is kind of paper thin and easily tears. I put newspapers on top before placing the dog so the leaf doesn't get punctured. A few moments after the shot was taken the dog walked around and his foot went through the leaf. |

Wow.. I'm so jealous that you can grow victoria amazonica.. if I have a house big enough in the future, its definitely going to be in the garden.. great job growing and blooming it.. :)

Re: Victoria Amazonica
It doen't need to have too much space actually. the first pond I grew this in was only 10 feet by 10 feet and was only 2 feet deep.
You can control the size of the leaves by limiting the soil and fertilizer. Leaves were only 3 feet across then. If they get crowded in you small pond because of too many leaves just cut off the older ones |
Re: Victoria Amazonica
If I can just find one. Even then, I do not have a pond(unless I dig up my carpark, then it can be really big)
