Hi Cindy,

Yes, that is mildew. My previous complaint about too many spoon leaf. Actually I discovered the mildew appeared on new leaf/pitcher been covered light by spoon leaf.

Anyway, I has do inspection everyday. If found the mildew, will use cotton with alcohol to wipe it off. Hope the cephalotus didn't get drunk. LOL

Hahaha. Why don't you pour wine inside the pitchers so it will get drunk. BTW my cephs not growing mildew but instead the new leaves are not as green the old ones. Its more yellowish.

I suggested to malowie that you guys check with YG how they are growing the Cephs. From what I know, the plants are all grown in peat and then potted in LFS to be sold. That media is way too soggy for our growing conditions.

Unless the whole pot is constantly kept cool (20-25C), the plants are going to be very prone to all sorts of problems. There is also a very high chance of root rot.

Mildew is best treated using systemic fungicide. I used alcohol but it kept spreading to new leaves.

Yellowing leaves mean trouble at the roots. Either is root rot or there is mealybugs at the root.

Don't worry, as long as they have roots they should be fine.
