Re: August Pitcher...
Love them all especially the mirabilis's contrast....
|
Re: August Pitcher...
That is nice!!!
I seen some of yours plant is hanging and some is at rack. Did the rack is at bottom of those hanging pot? Did you facing any problem like too wet (thos plant at rack)? I like the "No ID 2 - possibly N. viking x xkuchingensis" and mirabilis 'red' |
Re: August Pitcher...
Nice N. mirabilis "red" show really cool colour, your grow SM in lowland condition ?

I also try to get a mix that will dry faster compare to the regular mix. With less direct watering, the amps are doing fine. |
Re: August Pitcher...
very nice N. boschiana!

Re: August Pitcher...
Hi cpnut,
I was stunted with your plant collection :spinning:, especially N. ampullaria collection. What is N. boschiana clone you have, BE or MT? I hope to earn one in future. N. lowii x boschiana is also striking! I think I certainly have to update my plant collection from EP in future. For No ID1, it looks like N. mirabilis 'kuraburi', but I do not sure about it. By observe stem and leaves would be help for identification. Moreover, taxonomy is class that I always hate it. :sweating: In addition, No ID2, I supposed it is original ‘Rayong Hybrid’. On the other hand, it is N. Viking x xKuchingensis. Cheers, Pattarawut |
Re: August Pitcher...
very nice and interesting collection, very professionally grown!!

Re: August Pitcher...

Re: August Pitcher...
Thanks everyone for your comments.
Khun Pop, I'll post some detailed pics on No ID-1 in the ID section. I think No ID-1 is also a hybrid. For No ID-2, you said it's suppose to be the original ‘Rayong Hybrid’, may I know what's the parentage?? BTW, the N. boschiana is from MT... would be interesting to know if the N. boschiana from BE will adapt to the tropical L/L weather... Dr. Soon, I'm just learning as I go, still have many things to learn from you all... |

Someone beside me whispers that No-ID 1 might be N. Viking x Miranda. I am sorry for my poor guessing. It is very similar with the one we have in our stock, especially pitcher shape and color. Then, like I said by observing that stem and leaves, it would be help for plant identification. In addition, I am sorry for my words, which are not cleared. Original ‘Rayong Hybrid’ is one of the first Thai hybrids that Thai breeders ever have. It was made by crossing N. Viking with N. xKuchingensis. By the way, nice looking plant you have. Cheers, Pop |
Re: August Pitcher...
Hi Khun Pop,
Yes, it's possible it's a form of hybrid with Miranda, just not sure it's either viking or tiger... Anyway, thanks for trying to help. I'll post more detailed pics in the ID sections. Korbkunkarp. :1thumbup: |
Re: August Pitcher...
It's still August and it's been raining, some of my young neps are responding well to the high humudity weather...

@cpnut: all very well grown neps :1thumbup:

Re: August Pitcher...
N. campanulata so so cute
|
Re: August Pitcher...
Woah!They look great as always.
|
Re: August Pitcher...
wow .... great .... I love this mirabilis and all the others. The northiana is already a jewel like the sibuyanensis. I'm a bit disappointed of the no.1 id if this is really the hybrid viking x miranda. I would have expected more maxima / northiana influence.

Re: August Pitcher...
Rob,
Do you do any special treatment to your truncata x tm?Your's is so big yet mine is only an inch tall.It rarely pitchers for me though. |
Re: August Pitcher...
Thanks everybody for your kind comments... :shy:
Hi Boris, Thanks for your comment. I believe you need to take a look at Nepenthes Siam to decide whether N. viking x miranda hybrid have any potential. Since most of it are seed grown, there're many variant among seedlings so the possibilities are endless.... Ali, I didn't give the N. truncata x TM any special treatment, it's growing side by side with my other low landers and intermediate neps. I believe a very well drained media will probably be more suitable for this hybrid. |
Re: August Pitcher...
oh yes ... you are right. This are very nice plants. My female miranda flowered and I pollinated it with N. lowii and N. spathulata. Seedpods are developing so I'm full of hope for this hybrids if there will be some germination. That's the reason why I was very interested in this hybrid. If you wonder that there are also female mirandas have a look here: I did an ID request at pitcherplants forum:
http://pitcherplants.proboards.com/i...ay&thread=7622 I really was full of admiration of your plants. I hope my comment didn't sounded negativ. |
