If given a choice..

Hey guys, just wanna ask if you were given a choice to buy either a veitchii lowland and a maxima lowland both for the same price and are about the same size which would you get? I stay in typical lowland conditions so i would assume a maxima lowland would better than a veitchii..Anyway give your suggestions. Thanks

For me, I will choose pitcher sharpe/color that I like. In the case, I will choose veitchii lowland

Lol likezulteh279 said if you can afford get them both. But, if I had to choose I'd probably get the N. maxima.

i think i will choose a veitchii, since if i really want a maxima, i will use N.miranda just to cure my thirst, since maxima is quite similar to miranda(IMHO)
and great thing about veitchii is their enormous lips that i cant resist!!

Ken, I mentioned this in another forum, so I'll mention again  I'd go for maxima because it's easier and grows faster. Then you can propagate the plant and get more young little maximas! And you can sell them, earn money and buy the veitchii! *biggrin2*

BUT, veitchii is more rewarding and beautiful. Though I remember you never really had any luck growing it, do you? How's your veitchii pink?

It's growing okay the pitchers are about the same size as it was when i bought it luckily..but the leaf size drop alot..Anyway i don't expect it too pitcher all the time..maybe only during the rainy and cooler seasons..

If your veitchii pink can pitcher, then a veitchii lowland will do fine for you. For me, whenever I get a veitchii, it makes much smaller leaves after it has just been potted and slowly works its way back to its original leaf size after a while. It's not a very fast grower ;)
