Re: Nepenthes collection

hey, i nearly forgotten bout this thread.

anyway heres the update.

nepenthes A: n.dicksoniana (n.rafflesiana x n.veitchii)
nepenthes B: n.diatas

nepenthes C: n.rafflesiana 'kuching red squat'
nepenthes D: n.ventricosa 'black peristome'

NepNut 20th December 2009 12:54 AM

Re: Nepenthes collection

I think your nepenthes H should be a N. x ventrata. N. alata "Surigao" should have striped peristome and markings under the lid.

oh thanks for the pointer.....the ID i got it when i enquire about the plants availability and it was stated in the invoice too......will examine the plant again and post additional pics....appreciate your help nepnut..:shy: attached below is a link from MT website and should all the n.alata'surigao' look exactly like this or there might be a different form? just a wild guess though........ *biggrin2*

You're welcome, just trying to help.

Yes, the link from MT is the correct pic for N. alata "Surigao", exactly the same one I got. I guess most of their clones should be similar since they're all TC's plants. Unless they produced TCs from multiple clones??

Those are nectar dots found outside of pitchers. Sometimes can also see it on leaves and stem depending on the species and hybrids.

Oh ya... about the color change besides amount of light, it is also due to maturity factor. I noticed younger pitcher will usually have less intense coloration, as the nep slowly growing up, you'll start to see the pitcher color up and show more characteristic... My clone is flowering now... *biggrin2* but it's a male... :crying:
