N. lowii x campanulata

Here is 1st pitcher that formed at my house. Currently, it still full green. A CP master told me the plant will show their color at cold environment. At our out door tropical wheather, it will not show its potential color. Any comment on that?

Colder temperatures will help in the colouring of highland plants :)

Erm I'm not sure. But I saw a lowii x campa at fauzi that had 4" size pitchers and they had beautiful colouring. Maybe intermediate conditions suit it.

I doubt fauzi's nursry is intermediate in terms of temp but yea humidity sure is high...Casey maybe its still young? and its the first pitcher and all so needs some time to develop colour which will most probably come out in the next few pitchers

Fauzi's nursery is at the foot of a hill. So there's cool air flowing through his nursery. Plus, high humidity is constant in his area.

If there's one thing i hate about lowii hybrids, they pitcher really slowly :spinning:

This may apply to highland Neps and their hybrids, but as far as lowii x campanulata is concerned, its rubbish. I grow this hybrid and its at one of the hottest parts of my grow area, getting a fair bit of sun(and not very much humidity) and the pitchers it produces are purple. It must be the effect of the campanulata genes in it.

If u notice, most of EP's intermediate hybrid grow equally well in LL conditions. You can ask other forumers and Fauzi told me some of the lowii hybrids are vigorous such as lowii x boschiana. My lowii x campa has yet to pitcher.

My lowii x campanulata produce dark color pitcher in LL, the only problem is the problem won't grow big, like campa size.... otherwise healthy.
