http://s3.images.proboards.com/xx.gifQ: What to do with neps when going on vacation?
« Thread Started on Sept 10, 2007, 3:47pm »http://s3.images.proboards.com/buttons/modify.gif http://s3.images.proboards.com/buttons/delete.gif Dear members,

I'll be gone for 9 days end of this month and I'm still thinking what to do with my CPs. Any good tips?

Last time I went for CNY long leave, I wrapped my plants with plastic sheets.

In my terrarium, the plants won't be affected. I'm concerned for my balcony plants because no one will be coming to water them.

Rgds,
Isaac

Mebe you could PM him.

Thanks. I'm still deciding what to do with the plants. The tricky part is my balcony does not have a water pipe. http://s3.images.proboards.com/rolleyes.gif

then, i would suggest you put the neps in the bathroom and place them in water basins with water to last mebbe 5 days ( the other 4 days they`ll just be moist ).....the growth would be slightly affected without sun but better than them drying out in the open.

works even better if your bathroom has a long bathtub....i used to dump my plants there in my old bungalow house when we went for long holidays.

I think neps are still ok. Will try the basin method thanks for suggestion. A lot of new pitchers are forming, don't want them to be deprived of water and go into shock.

now I'm more worried for my ginger plants.

Probably time to get a misting system next year. I saw someone posting about auto watering system in another forum.

Rgds,
Isaac
