All nep species are of single gender/sex, either male or female. If I'm not mistaken, the ratio of male : female should be 7:3.

Nepenthes have seperate sex and they do not change. You need a male plant and female plant to get seeds. The bad new is only about 30% of plants in cultivation are female.

OK, then how do we differentiate the males from females? Any distinctive features?

As far as I know, only till it flower then you can tell... Unless there's other features that I wasn't aware of?

It has been established that both the male and female plant flowers so there must be some difference in the flowers to tell them apart.

Could someone please enlighten this newbie?:spinning::confused: Pictures of the differences are most welcome! Thanks in advance.

Hi, you can check out this link: https://forum.petpitcher.net/showthread.php?t=1927 to see what the male flower looks like then you can compare with the picture of female on the beginning page of this thread.
