Thanks for the tips Tarence  There's a lot for me to learn in photography. Will remember that you... errr... I mean "people" move very fast with an umbrella, so I've got to be faster to catch you... errr... sorry, slip again... "people" on camera...

Just went to MAHA again this afternoon. Guess what? Both the long lost friends are back in YG after so many years, the Cephalotus and the S.Minor Hybrid. The Cephalotus just arrived yesterday. The stocks for both plants are limited, make sure you call them before you go. They also have new drosera, the D.Scorpiodes. They are mature plants and you can even see some producing gemmae.

thx Liang. btw, we saw your details in the lil` book from YG so we know you went there before us. heheh.

aiyoo, s. minor hybrid ? is it the one which we already have ? the one from wilson ? if yes, i can save some money.

The D. scorpiodes and cephalotus is very tempting. What's the price tag on the D. scorpiodes? Liang, do they have other Drosera or Pings there?

Re: MAHA 2008

Tarence, the one wilson has was also from YG a few years ago. I'm not sure if they are the same hybrid but it has more red veins than the previous X S. Minor. Hope this one will produce windows to show more S.Minor's characteristic.

David, the price for the D. scorpiodes is RM22. They do not have other drosera or Pings.

All who visited must have an enjoyable time hunting for nice plants:laugh:

seem that every year August was the chosen month for horti and flora show. Over in kuching we have the Highlands flora show, though not alot of plants for sale but planted and blooming flowers to welcome visitors. It was an excelent place for landscape and flowers photography.

most welcomed KC.......the look on your face when you saw it just now was priceless. haha. it reminds of the 1st time i saw my own cephalotus years ago. i went like `Wahhhhhhh, so cute ! `

the specimen we are getting from YG is in remarkable shape as YG won`t sell anything which may tarnish its reputation. Meaning it it isn`t stable or is not of a certain standard, they won`t sell it.

someone post a pic of it plse......david ? KC ? i was too tired last nite to snap a pic & transfer it to my pc etc etc

Hi there Marvin,

I will take it from your statement that you are unaware about what MAHA is and that you are not just making fun of funkychips post here.

You can actually find the information on the first page/first post in this thread. MAHA is an acronym for "Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism" Show.

It is our region's largest exhibition showcasing the latest Technologies and Innovations in the Agriculture, Agro-Based, Horticulture and Agrotourism Industry. Last year, MAHA 2008 was awarded by The Malaysian Book of Records as the Largest Exhibition in Malaysia. Hope this gives you an idea of how huge this event is. You can google it on the internet to find out more.

Cheers.
