Re: Bacterial leaf rot on bical?

Seems like quite a few of us have bical loosing leaves recently. My bical lost 3 leaves last month, considering it produces only 1 new leaf every month. The leaves turned solid black rather than brown. Probably the sun's position at this time and averagely lower temperature.

Cheah,
The sun shifted it's position recently, have you take that into account?? I can see the "infection" that you experienced, it's exactly the same as what happend to my bical... The only difference, I didn't do anything and left it there (didn't even cut the affected leaves as I wanted to see what will happen next), eventually all the leaves that had the black patches dried up. Howeverm if my plants won't recover, I will update here.

Please don't get me wrong Cheah, my point is not to show who is correct or wrong (totally not my intention) but to share and discuss among fellow enthusiats to find out what's the reason behind this "black patches". It'll be such a waste to see a nep being cut (like this case) when it's actually not fatal to the plant (yet to be proven but it's still a possibility). I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say. Thanks. :smile:

I get what you mean. I was just being on the cautious side, as I only have 1 bical. Anyway, the plant is getting too tall and due to be cut. 3 bicals are better than 1.. :p

global warming!!! :sweating::sweating::sweating:

i have encountered this matter too when i shifted all my neps from the higher humidity and shadier backyard to the bone dry full sun front part of my house.....the bicals, the broader leaves and intermediate varieties suffer the most. the large "brown patches" appears on my bicals and intermediates.....tendrils and leaves that touches the side of the rim of the plastic pots are crispy dried.....but the whole condition changed when east coast is now drenched almost everyday....newer leaves are produced and the plant recovered......so i shall say based on my experience.....excessive sun burnt.:closedeyes:
