Missing fragrance?
I have noticed that my ventrata nepenthes' fragrance is decreasing and sometimes non-existent in its pitchers. Why is that? Should I be worried?

Re: Missing fragrance?
Nah, don't worry. Personally I haven't noticed any fragrance ever and it probably doesn't mean anything that you can't notice one now.

Re: Missing fragrance?
I do sometimes smell some sort of smell when i'm near my neps...This was most frequent when my miranda had large lower pitchers and 100++ of ants were getting caught all the time..Then once i accidently spilled a little of the dead mulch of ants from the pitcher and realised that the smell came from it

Re: Missing fragrance?
So the scent may be the digestive enzymes?

Re: Missing fragrance?
Thazo, can you elaborate-the fragrance is more intense in the morning or evening?
Ken, check again the fragrance should come from the underside of the lid. In newly opened pitcher the fluids are odourless, only later became pungent with the decomposing insects. |
