2 years old and im to lazy repoting this guy.
use insecticide wisely.
usually mealy bug attack big plant with big pot. dont know why.
how to check it?? just pull your sarracenia from the pot..if mealy bug exist..you'll see them on that root.

yes. you're rite. purpurea and psitacina is slow grower and hard to split. but if you want to split. make sure the plant have many growth point and snap the outer growth point to make sure you do not make a lot of wounds on the plant.
and dont forget. make sure the outer growth point have some root attach on it.
