Heh, I seriously hate perlite now. Stick to your hand and stuff like that and it holds a lot of water too. The aquarium sand I bought is about 1mm in diameter, not the fine sand like in children playground
is yours the same as mine?
Reading around, some sources say that sand is very helpful to keep the soil from breaking down and compacting the roots too much. And I'll say that aquarium sand looks nice too
