xkuchingensis not growing

Hi all,
got a cutting of n. xkuchingensis abt 2 and a half months ago. Its not growing nor dying.. any advice?
I root it in peat moss + perlite, LFS topping, as usual for all my cuttings. But this seems to be a bit harder..

« Reply #3 on Aug 24, 2007, 1:14pm » if the growing tip has gotten soft, wrap it up in a plastic bag asap. it means the cutting is not getting enough water (or losing too much water via transpiration).

« Reply #4 on Aug 24, 2007, 2:09pm » I agree with hongrui. Quickly wrap it up with plastic. Also how long is this cutting. From the picture I can see that it is a cutting from the tip of the vine, ie. the softest part of the entire vine of the plant. Sometimes doing cutting from this part is harder because it is too soft. Best to get a cutting a few leaves below the newest shoot on the vine. Also I realised if the cutting is too short, it will not grow.

David, i couldnt remember how long is this cutting. I think i wanna 'reborn' this cutting, wash it's stems to the edge, remove/ cut if theres rotten part, dip it into the rooting hormone, plant it back to the medium. Will give it a big wash/ bath together with the pot and wrap it in a plastic bag.

« Reply #6 on Aug 25, 2007, 2:48am » May I also add that more frequent watering where the excess runs out from the bottom will encourage fast roots and perk the cutting into a plant. Ading a very diluet rooting nutrient or hormone to the water every once in a while also helps greatly. I use Superthrive with good results.
