Hi Edward. It will be a bit of shock to your plants but they can and do experience extremes in temps inthe wild. Providing the plants are relatively healthy and not too stressed they should handle it OK. Your suggestioin of moving it into a cooler, darker place for a while before hand ceretainly wouldn't hurt them. They do however need the cold temps to get the best out of them.
