Noticed you got the northiana.Well congrates to you but just a friendly advice from me.
You said you have potted it with the wrong medium,northiana doesn't like it's root to be disturbed so it's good to start with a big pot but what exactly is the medium you potted it with?
Bigger pots > more water > root rot.Control this by watering when the media gets dry.
