True colour?????
The stems of my D. lanta can also be red in colour if you give them more light.
The colour of the plants are usually affected by the timing of the light they received. Of course sunlight is the best.

So Drosera derbyensis is a wooly sundew? Wooly sundews are more difficult to grow than others, right?

D. petiolaris complex like warm temperature. The difficulties to me is to keep the temperature for them (below 15C may be danger for them) in winter.
Difficult or not is just depend on the climate conditions you live.
However, if you willing to add addition equipments to overcome the problem. Then, they are very easy to grow.
I know a guy lived in USA have many different types of D. petiolaris complex collections. It's a pity that we are lost contact now.
