VFTs are not native to Malaysia. Unlike in the USA where this plant is famous, most nursery owners never even seen VFTs before. The ones that have them just call these plants 'meat-eating plants'. Agree, majority of nursery in Malaysia has no idea what species they are taking in, they know only the common name but not the exact scientific name, even if given, they will still ignore it, all they look at is the price of the plant, most nursery only take in cheap plants, which leads to a simple hypothesis-those vft taken is most likely typical form as it is the cheapest form of vft locally(considering the fact that typical form, shark tooth and red dragon are the more common forms that can be found around, while most other's are not as common)
